drugstore haul: lip colors!

I'll let you in on a little secret: I love pink and red lipstick. Love. Like, it's hard to find another color in my stash (at least in any quantity), and despite my healthy collection I still find myself lusting after the next big thing.

Lately, between the Makeup and Beauty Blog and Alle over at xoVain, I have been introduced to quite a few new products and I thought I'd share some swatches! At some point, hopefully, Winter will have to end and I think any and all of these colors would be great for Spring/Summer.

Revlon Lip Butter in "Raspberry Pie"
I was on the fence about this color because the initial swatches made it appear that the lipstick was too sheer for my liking, but it's a great highly pigmented almost fluorescent pink. Love the textures but I haven't worn it long enough to comment on longevity.

Revlon Colorbust Matte Balm in "Standout"
A very close dupe to the one Tarte Lip Surgence lipstick I own, the twist up applicator is makes applying a breeze and the minty flavor/scent is refreshing. A beautiful red with blue undertones, I would say in real life it's slightly darker on me than the picture I captured here.

Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain in "Cabaret Blend"
A surprise win! I don't tend to enjoy deeper wine-ier pinks but this color is easy to apply (this has a brush trip similar to Stila glosses) and stays on forever. Towards the end of the day I can get a little bit of dryness on the inside rim of my lips but it's not visible and the product leaves behind a nice even stain.

Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color in "Pink Rave"

A satiny matte bubblegum pink color. The applicator's a little strange, it has a firm sponge tip that's flat on both sides, but the formula is scentless and incredibly smooth (with no stickiness at all!).

That's all for now but if there's anything you want to know more about just let me know in the comments!
