I'm not sure why I've held on to these jeans for the past few years, but I think the every once in a while I wear them still allows me to put them in the good purchase category. I guess I just can't decide if I love the fit or not. Despite the times I've worn them they're still a different silhouette than I'm used to, and ultimately I guess I think it's good to keep trying new things (even when they're not really so new anymore).

Wednesday, June 17, 2015 • Anthropologie, Kate Spade, Kate Spade Saturday, Lou Lou, OOTD, Urban Outfitters
The heat and humidity are going to be end of me, friends. I was spoiled by last summer when the temps barely flirted with 3 digits. At the moment every time you step outside it feels like you're breathing 50/50 air and water. And while I wouldn't say this dress "breathes" per se, being sleeveless with a large skirt that moves a lot certainly helps.
This is one of those items I just had to have. Before I started working at Anthropologie I was looking for a dress to wear to my friend's wedding banquet in Singapore, and this one was just magic from the moment I put it on. If you can still get your hands on it, it's on sale and worth every penny.
And because no post about this dress would be complete without a demonstration of possibly its best attribute...SO MUCH SKIRT!
It's pretty much to die for.
**A couple notes on fit: I wear this with a black racerback bra - it peeks out a little right at my neck but since the dress is such a dark blue I don't think it detracts from the overall effect. Also, while I ended up buying this dress in a size 14, the 12 fit as well. It was just obviously a bit tighter from the waist up and since this fabric doesn't have any stretch I liked the additional comfort (& eating room) of the larger size.

In case you think I spend all my time in fit and flare dress or skirts, this is a pretty common look for me as the heat rises - easy walking shorts with a breezy top that covers my arms (I'm terrible at remembering to put sunscreen on any exposed skin).
