"Fall" in DC
Tuesday, October 16, 2018 • apple picking, Free People, Kate Spade, larriland farm, OOTD, Seychelles, the adventures of dana
I don't know how to explain apple picking in 90 degree weather and sunflowers so....I'm just going to let these pictures speak for themselves, lol. Also, as beautiful as Larriland Farm was, how dare you have a market with no apple-centric baked goods! BLASPHEMY I say.

Tuesday, August 7, 2018 • Anthropologie, LOFT, Me Two Designs, Me2, MeTwo, Missoma, OOTD, Seychelles, Tysons Corner, World Market
Sometimes a print or a shape alone is enough to get me to walk into a new-to-me store, and that's exactly what happened with Me Two Designs. I had never seen the storefront before in Tyson's, but I loved the combination of more modern shapes with the traditional African print. The sizing is a little strange - this large fit perfectly, but others weren't going over my hips or boobs without divine intervention - but it's definitely a label I'd like to explore more in the future.
Oh, and if you're taller than me this dress would probably be perfect for you to wear with flat sandals, I had to hem about 3" off the bottom.

yes, it's another jumpsuit
Tuesday, July 24, 2018 • Lou Lou, Missoma, Neiman Marcus Last Call, OOTD, Seychelles, The Frankie Shop, World Market
Hi, name is Dana and I have a jumpsuit problem. Not one that's big enough to make me throw out half my wardrobe in favor of them, but I'm sure at this point I probably own more than enough for one person.
I picked up the one below from The Frankie Shop, a store in SoHo that combines new and vintage pieces (that I only went to because of Lizzy Hadfield). What's possibly most mindboggling about this piece is that it's considered "one size". Have I ever fit something labeled one size before in my life? If I did it was definitely before my memory was good enough to grasp the remarkability of that, so it doesn't count.
You can see from the link below that (obviously) it doesn't fit me like the model, but this is one of those rare moments where I like the way it fits me better. With my curves I don't do well in pieces that are super large and oversized, so the wide legs, belt, and fitted torso are more flattering. I've already worn this a couple of times and will continue to do so, because it's hot as hell in DC and this jumpsuit is 100% linen and unlined.

I've thought about this, and apparently I have very little to say about this outfit other than -
1) I love maxi dresses
2) I'm sorry this one is old so there's no current links to buy it new
3) The correct maxi dress length is always nearly skimming the ground while wearing your shoes of choice, thus guaranteeing the longest leg line possible.

Tuesday, April 17, 2018 • Anthropologie, Free People, Kate Spade, OOTD, Seychelles, Urban Outfitters, World Market
Since this dress is sold out, here are some other floral maxi dresses - on sale! - that I also like: from Lord & Taylor (30% off for F& F) - one, two, three; ASOS - one; Neiman Marcus - one (love this one in theory!), two.
While it's probably a little torturous to showcase a dress you can't get anymore, I still can't stop myself from sharing the other pictures from the Botanic Gardens. I'm actually really happy I got the chance to re-shoot this dress here, because it was always my dream location (just one of those dreams that's a bit harder to achieve without another person, lol). I've pretty much always worn this kind of fancy maxi dress to casual occasions, probably because I one day hope of being as absolutely give no f*cks as Dita Von Teese.

Coachella (but not, because sometimes DC is better)
Tuesday, April 10, 2018 • Anthropologie, Ashley Graham X Dress Barn, Dress Barn, Heliantha Photography, Kate Spade, OOTD, Seychelles, World Market
If you're lucky, and you time it just right, in DC you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery ever. I don't care how touristy it's considered, getting outside and to the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms in all their glory is always worth it.
I've been extraordinary lucky that my friends are willing to make the trek with me, and this year Ali, of Heliantha Photography, and I met up to create what I think might be some of my favorite blog content ever. I don't have enough reasons to pull this Ashley Graham x Dress Barn maxi out, but I may need to work on it because it's so easy to wear and I still feel incredibly beautiful in it.
