1) I know these pictures are a funny color, I can't tell if the white background or the shadowed area did me in, but here are.
2) I refuse to lie and say this is anything other than an aspirational outfit. At this point in Winter I'm over everything. Even the pieces I like. Leaving my house in anything other than leggings and a sweatshirt is an exercise in effort. I felt bad leaving y'all hanging so I wanted to throw something together highlighting a relatively new piece I got a ridiculous deal on, but honesty is important right?
Unrelated to anything except to my own lazy frustration, has anyone taken an online Photoshop class that they liked?

I'm not going to lie and say the majority of this outfit wasn't purchased due to Influencer marketing. Truth is truth. Last year I can attribute this sweater to Lizzy Hadfield, and the jacket to Brittany Bathgate. And probably the pants too, though Brittany showcased the jean version of this style and I decided I had enough of those.
I think all in all this whole look is a good example of the direction I'd like my wardrobe to go in, at least when I'm not wearing sweatpants (shrug).

Cold Weather Problems

1) It's too cold to wear half of the outfits I want to, kinda like this one. I feel cool and awesome and almost froze to death taking these photos.
2) Even though it's progressively getting lighter in the afternoon/evenings, as far as pictures go the lack of ambient light is shit. Especially because upping the ISO levels as I did below, result in fuzzy pictures (which I kind of knew it would but I was hoping I was wrong.
Maybe we should collectively decide I'm going for a "vintage" aesthetic? That could work. In fact, screw it, I put these in A Color Story and now they're *deliberately* retro. I'm fashion forward, that's right, and not a procrastinator.

I know this is a bit of a departure from my usual, but I have to share a secret with y'all. I am having a moment with jeans, and it's not a particularly positive one. It's a very bad season to decide that jeans are too binding and yet... I'm trying to compensate by adding pants (I also don't want to wear skirts/dresses cause tights) but as I'm sure is shocking to no one, that's also difficult. I've got a couple pairs from Meeps and recently a couple from Uniqlo (to be seen later), but it continues to be a work in progress. Especially cause it's cold and I'm cold and even in the below outfit I kind of wish I'd included a scarf. Dammit.
Cardigan: The Frankie Shop (O/S, Old, Same in Oatmeal) ~ Sweater: Uniqlo (Size Large, Old, This Season) ~ Pants: Meep's Vintage (Mens Size 36) ~ Loafers: Sam Edelman (Size 9) ~ Purse: Last Call NM (Old) ~ Necklace: Missoma ~ Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters (Old)
Despite the fact that no one responded to my Instagram poll and I only got one message about my question (Hi Kitsey!), never say I don't give the people what they want ;) lol.
It's still depressingly cold in DC (I'm over winter, I don't care that summer is a swamp hell) so instead of any dresses I went the "cute but comfortable" route in some of my favorite buys of 2017. These thrifted booties and LOFT blazer tie together by the latter's subtle burgundy stripe in the plaid, and with the heattech turtleneck underneath I didn't freeze - too much - taking these pictures.
I hope you're enjoying something baked and tasty today, because other than fun cards that's about the only other thing I like about this holiday.

One of the other things I'd like to work on this year is doing a few more posts without sunglasses. I wear specs almost 100% of the time (contacts are a thing, but since it's not worth compensating for my astigmatism they're not a regular occurrence) and here with simple makeup and little to no lip is pretty much me.
Next step: perhaps looking at the camera. No promises though, haha.
