BDIB: Oxblood
Monday, September 24, 2012 • BDIB, ECI New York, Old Navy, OOTD, The Limited
So can anyone tell me when burgundy officially became un-sexy? Because I'm not any more enamored with with the idea of wearing jeans the color of a bleeding ox :-/.
For this particular Bloggers Do It Better challenge (which I took photos for last minute - oops!) I decided to go for broke and wear a couple of my favorite new items for Fall: burgundy skinnies and brocade. The jacket was a gift and is a little small; do I care? HELL NO. Do you see this thing? I'm gonna wear it to death however possible. The jeans I'm still getting used to as their length, which seems perfectly appropriate to most people, still feels a little short to me.
And now...gratuitous jacket shot!
Oh and Happy Monday - I hope you're all enjoying this lovely Fall weather as much as I am!

Animals Gone Wild

*RAWR!*
BWAHAHAHA!
Yeah right - no one's going to believe I can pull that off. Sadly I am also lacking in diverse animal print options for this Bloggers Do It Better challenge, but at least I can show off my new Salvation Army find. This skirt was a whopping $6 and I love it. It's made from a weirdly soft (and completely unidentifiable) fabric and not only is it the only piece of snakeskin-esque that I own, it also helps me channel my current Sea of Shoes obsession.
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!
(sorry for the 'eh' pictures - nothing was working for me today and I just couldn't do it anymore)

BDIB: Arm Party
Wednesday, August 3, 2011 • BDIB
I would have done some much better if this had been an eye candy or ear candy (ear candy? yeah that doesn't sound right) challenge. I just don't stack bracelets much, and I don't have a lot of options to choose from because I'm much more of an earrings kinda girl. I'm gradually introducing more necklaces into my accessories wardrobe, but bracelets - especially groups of them - are not my forte.
All this is leading up to me asking you not to hate me too much for the fact that only some of this arm candy actually belongs to me. It's about half & half my roommate's and I can't tell you where she got any of it. Sorry!
And you probably noticed that I skipped over the maxi skirt BDIB Challenge.1 - I actually don't own a maxi skirt, and 2 - the last time I tried to make that work with one of my maxi dresses it was just a great big disaster. I think this challenge went moderately well but to check out some amazing examples of arm candy, go over to Pretty Shiny Sparkly's round-up post!

My FIRST EVER Bloggers Do It Better

But do they really? REALLY? I can't actually verify it- there's no bloggers truth police for example - but the idea definitely isn't bad. It gives me the opportunity to go out and not only find random crap in my own closet to wear, but borrow it from other people!
It boggles the mind.
Just recently while traversing the blogosphere I came across the site Pretty Shiny Sparkly and her 'Bloggers Do It Better' Challenge. As Kristina describes it, it is "an initiative to showcase real girls, with real style, wearing real trends." Sounds nice doesn't it? A couple of topics went by before I found/decided to join in on the fun, but my first foray is going to happen with the wonderful combination of...
It's not magical, in fact you might not even be able to tell just how BRIGHT that tank top is, but I like it. I put it together, it made me feel good, and I'm excited to try this combination again. Though possibly with a piece of clothing that is actually mine and not a coworker's ;)
