I think it's difficult to live in DC and not even attempt to acknowledge the sacrifices made by so many that we honor with Memorial Day. So please excuse my awkwardness, but thank you. You are not forgotten.

It may be September but Fall has just barely started to be felt in the DC area. Temperatures are supposed to be in the 90's this week so I'm just going to keep wearing my fun colors, full skirts, and ridiculous purses for as long as possible.

And guess what? I leave for DragonCon tomorrow! I can't wait!

Two things -

1) Sorry these photos are a little fuzzy. Taking pictures of bright white dresses in pretty shaded areas is hard >.<

2) If you like this dress (which I highly recommend since it dresses up and down so well) don't be afraid to try on the petite and regular versions. I ended up buying it in Large Petite because there was less fabric along the sides but the length wasn't affected.

It might officially be Fall, but this past weekend DC was in the mid 80's so please excuse the dress! It's a slightly more recent purchase of mine and I love it for its simplicity and grace, plus it's unlined, which makes it perfect for warmer days.

This dress might need a little bit of tweaking (I'd like to take the shoulders in slightly so it sits smooth against my body) but I just had to wear it before sending it off. I picked this up on a whim during Nordstrom Rack's extra sale off sale event this past July, and despite the fact that the tag said size 12 it fit wonderfully. I love the retro feel and the fun pattern. Summer might be ending but I get the feeling I'll still be pulling this out whenever I need an extra lift.
