ASOS
and then there was the mini dress
Wednesday, May 30, 2018 • ASOS, Converse, Kate Spade, Neiman Marcus Last Call, OOTD, World Market
Let me tell you about when you shouldn't wear a 100% polyester dress. You should not wear a 100% polyester dress during a holiday weekend that causes a major road to close so that instead of taking an Uber all the way to your destination, you're forced to walk.
Dress: ASOS* (Size 12) ~ Shoes: Converse (Size 39, old) ~ Purse: Neiman Marcus Last Call (old-ish) ~ Earrings: World Market ~ Necklaces: Kate Spade & World Market

*Fit Note: First, the size 12 in this dress is fitted if I'm being generous, tight if I'm not. That does allow me to wear it without a bra, but it also means I have to pull some type of contortionist sh*t to get the back zipper all the way up. Also, it's 100% polyester, which honestly I might be pulling an Emma Hill on because I almost died taking these pictures, and that does make a summer mini dress a bit harder to rationalize, lol.
Despite the fact that no one responded to my Instagram poll and I only got one message about my question (Hi Kitsey!), never say I don't give the people what they want ;) lol.
It's still depressingly cold in DC (I'm over winter, I don't care that summer is a swamp hell) so instead of any dresses I went the "cute but comfortable" route in some of my favorite buys of 2017. These thrifted booties and LOFT blazer tie together by the latter's subtle burgundy stripe in the plaid, and with the heattech turtleneck underneath I didn't freeze - too much - taking these pictures.
I hope you're enjoying something baked and tasty today, because other than fun cards that's about the only other thing I like about this holiday.

Starting the New Year off on a good - if cold - start, in some of my favorite pieces of 2017.
*Fit Note: Despite ASOS's "fit recommendation" that the XL was closer to a size 10, this coat fits very comfortably on me, even in the shoulders, with layers and without, so I say if you're in doubt and you see the size pop back up, go ahead and go for it.
Coat: Vila* (Size XL, via ASOS) ~ Shirt: The Limited (Size Large, old) ~ Jeans: Levi's (Size 32) ~ Boots: Vagabond (Size 9) ~ Bag: Coach (thrifted) ~ Sunglasses: Kate Spade

black on black
Thursday, September 14, 2017 • Aldo, ASOS, Kate Spade, OOTD, The Limited
In my quest to create the perfect closet for me, I've been purging. Purging to the point where things are looking a little bare at this point in the year, but if that's what it takes to get me to a place I'm happy with then I'm gonna make it work. This top had been slated for the donate pile, but I decided to pull it back out for one last attempt at a refashion and I'm really glad that I did.
Is a black button with black jeans actually all that revolutionary? No, of course not, but the combination of the high-waisted washed black jeans and the almost satiny-finish of the top is unique enough to make me happy, without feeling too dressed up.
*Fit Note: Due to the low stretch I sized up to a 34 in these ASOS Jeans and love them to pieces.

This dress isn't actually fulfilling any of the missing spots in my wardrobe right now (potentially linen tops, more summer pants that aren't jeans) but I love it and made a somewhat emotional purchase I don't think I'll regret later :).

Wednesday, April 5, 2017 • Anthropologie, ASOS, Chris Stapleton, Converse, Kate Spade, OOTD
I have to admit that I find it a little funny that my new solution to any skinny jeans I feel "meh" about is to cut off the hem and see if that helps, lol.
Also, it waaaay past time for me to dye this hair again. And cut it!
