This is one of those rare "is this outfit worth posting?" posts. It was overcast and chilly this past weekend, and I gravitated to the comfiest pieces in my closet right now.

I'm not sure I'll ever be the heels-with-boyfriend-jeans kind of person, it doesn't feel very me, but with loafers and a mid-weight jacket I felt put together enough.


Fit Note: I sized down to a Medium in this coat, and probably would prefer that size across the board at Eileen Fisher.

As weird as it is to say it, or even really to think it, I kind of feel like this post is very "classic" Good Red Herring. It's got my favorite "not-looking-at-the-camera" poses and features some pieces that have been well loved over the years.

I also strangely want to call this the closest I've ever come to an Atlantic Pacific post, which is granting myself a LOT of airs I don't deserve, but this outfit was strongly influenced by things I've seen her wear on her blog. It's like she's in my brain!

Sometimes you find a sweater hanging in the sale section and you just know the universe is looking out for you.

For me going to the movies is all about layers. Summer or Fall the temperature inside a theater often hovers right around arctic so this blazer and gingham button down are perfect. Plus if for some reason I do get hot then I can take a layer off and still be ok. Add in comfy burgundy jeans, oxfords, and a sizeable crossbody and I've even got a way to sneak in candy!
