rainy days
Tuesday, April 16, 2019 • Abercrombie, Eddie Bauer, Free People, G.H. Bass & Co, Marine Layer, Missoma, OOTD, PUNCHCASE, Urban Outfitters
I always had this idea in my head of what a "rainy days" outfit would look like when I shared one here. I definitely had more of an Atlantic Pacific aesthetic in mind, with lots of color and maybe a coordinating boots and jacket set. The reality is though that my life - and wardrobe - don't look like that. So here's what rainy days actually look in my world: light, packable rain jacket in a color that won't show dirt, and water resistant leather boots. And because warm rainy days equals humid, an equally lightweight t-shirt that won't make me hate my life.

simple updates

It's funny how at this point I almost fee like writing a "fit post" for The Frankie Shop. Every time I'm in NY I like to swing by and try on some of their wares, because despite the "one size" label that so many of their pieces have, they can end up fitting pretty perfectly. This green corduroy shirt fulfills a few different wants I had, in a way that's much more versatile than a blazer (which is the other corduroy piece I was toying around with buying).
I'm still working on creating a wardrobe I'm 100% happy with, but I feel like maybe I'm coming around more and more to The Anna Edit's version of a capsule - not a particular number, but a determination to only have pieces that I love, and moving out-of-season items to a different spot in my closet (and not because I don't have space, but because it's distracting to have them cluttering things up).

reasonable coat decisions
Tuesday, February 6, 2018 • Banana Republic, Coach, Eddie Bauer, Gap, INC International, OOTD
My coat collection has a pretty good selection of fun and "work" coats. Pieces that add to an outfit and mostly, hopefully, also keep me warm. When I picked up this coat during the end of season sales last year, it was never gonna be a "fun" coat. I got this coat because DC is developing this tendency of being really f*cking cold and it's making me sad. I'm fortunate to be able to say that I also think it's cute enough to throw on top of lots of different outfits so when it feels like 1 degree Fahrenheit outside I don't lose a limb.
So what you should be taking from all this is that you probably need an Eddie Bauer coat in your life. Paired like it is here with OTK boots which are *this close* to being perfect (they stay up over jeans but not on bare/tights covered legs) and while I wouldn't lie to you and say I was toasty, I was ok hanging out on play ground that at 3pm on a Saturday had no one else there.
