Weekly Money Check-Up: 5/14

Monday, May 14, 2012

I have no idea how many of these posts I'll do but since I'm trying (trying) to be better about my budget and finances in general, I thought a little self-help couldn't hurt.

1. The most I’ve spent this last week was on groceries. I thought ahead this time and planned out a few dinner/lunch combo meals for the week but the ingredients were a bit pricier than I anticipated.

2. Today I am thankful for my friends. Not all of them are perfect, in fact I have to work on accepting it when things change in a way I might not have wanted, but the good ones I have are really good and I am lucky to have them.

3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free thing I did last week that made me happy was go to the Bolivian Festival! Completely accidental but I spent hours there on Saturday enjoying a beautiful day and incredible performances.

4. I will consider this week a success if I continue with my goal to Unf*ck my habitat. I was a BAMF (for me) this weekend and washed my sheets and towels in addition to flipping my mattress - which I've been meaning to do since I moved into my apartment.

5. My favorite Disney character is Mulan. She's so kickass and not only saved China but also got the guy. Win-win.
